This is my portfolio website. You can browse here and find out a little about the work that I made at Dundalk Institute of Technology and in my free time.
This is some of my more recent projects. These posters were made to question different aspects of media.
The first poster is supposed to look like an advertisement for a cigarette company, but the meaning is different. It shows a silhouette made out of ashes of a man and a woman smoking together. It represents how even though it is now socially acceptable for both of them to smoke (unlike in the past), it is still harmful to their bodies and they might also turn to ashes because of it one day.
Poster on the right relates to media regulation, mainly censorship. It draws inspiration from the Communist era in Czechoslovakia, specifically in regard to the limitations forced upon artists at that time who were not allowed to express all of their opinions in their art. An example of this is Marta Kubišová with her son "Modlitba pro Martu" (Prayer for Martha).
Poster on the left symbolizes how each of us is a unique person but Media institutions devide us into different groups. They have to then carefully pick which audience to cater to and therefore potentially be more successful.
Poster on the right is about Media domestication. It symbolises how some of us see devices like TVs and computers as a part of the family and can even center a whole room around them (eg. the living room).
